Curves: a club helping the community.

"The opportunity for us and our members to give back to the Alberton community promotes the spirit of giving.” - Charmain van der Merwe

MEYERSDAL – Curves, a weight loss center specially designed for women, is continuing to make a difference in Meyersdal.

All their members and the community proved that we truly are ‘Stronger Together’ by donating 1 917.6 kg of food to less fortunate persons in Alberton North during their annual Food Drive.

During the Food Drive, Curves waive their usual joining fee and instead request that new members donate R200 worth of non-perishable items.

Existing members are also encouraged to assist by bringing in food equivalent to the amount of weight they want to, or have lost already. One example of this is Hester Coward, who donated 16.1 kg of food, the amount of weight she lost in just four months.

“Curves and our members are delighted to help the community,” said Charmain van der Merwe, Meyersdal Curves Manager.

“The Food Drive is an excellent program that fits perfectly with the Curves philosophy; promoting the whole woman. The opportunity for us and our members to give back to the Alberton community promotes the spirit of giving.”
