The Caxton Reynolds Race kicks off

The Caxton Reynolds Race kicked off on a high note, on June 7, at Hirsch's Boksburg.

BOKSBURGThe eager and energetic teams braved the cold weather all hoping to score high in their first task of the race.

Reynolds Race is based on the popular television’s “Amazing Race”, and will require participating teams to complete various tasks across the East Rand, in order to win the big prize.

The winners of this year’s race win an all-expenses paid trip to Zanzibar, courtesy of the SA Reynolds Travel Centre.

A point system will be used to monitor the teams’ performances and to score them accordingly

The first team to finish a task within the given time walks away with bragging rights and top points that will be added to their overall score card.

The three teams with the most points by the end of the seventh week will all go into the finals that will be held in Springs, on August 2.

With the first task, on June 7, some teams tied with their scores, which is why they achieved the same points.

Meet the teams:

Jenny Basson and Esté Reynecke will represent Springs.

Johan Ferreira and Sophia Viljoen will represent Kempton Park and Tembisa.
