New look for SPCA second-hand shop

The Alberton SPCA second-hand shop is divided into two sections.

THE Alberton SPCA shop has been in need of a facelift and care for some time, and on May 18 and 19 the SPCA and the piano company Linclon Bros got together to create a one all-in-all shop.

The staff of Lincoln joined SPCA members to open the second-hand shop, which inter-leads into the dog food shop and can be run from one till point.

The teams got together during Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning to assist.

Accorrding to Catherine Rollinson, trees were cut back, security gates moved and re-installed. They also sorted and separated food and clothing.

An additional animal food, toy and shopping area has been created and set up for community members when adopting an animal, also serving as a monthly animal food shop.

“A big thank you to Mike Romburgh, who not only donated new doors for our shop, but also installed them a little while ago. To the kind volunteers who spent their weekend assisting us, from the bottom of our hearts we thank you. We could not have done it without your kind generosity,” said Catherine.

“We are asking our community to assist us financially if possible, with the cost of building, which Lincoln Bros is covering until we have raised enough funds. Any donation big or small towards this cost will mean a great deal to us and our society. We rely on the generosity of our community to survive. We thank you all for your support and please come visit our amazing new shop and tell us what you think,” said Catherine.
