Retiree battling with phantom withdrawals

AN Alberton resident, Mr Albert Kraay, is disappointed with the way he has been treated at his bank.

ALBERTON: Mr Kraay, who is retired, noticed that something in his bank statements was amiss. When he reviewed his statement, he noticed that there were two cash withdrawals that he was not responsible for. After going to the bank and asking them to investigate the matter, they let him know they will get back to him in three weeks.

Three weeks passed and Mr Kraay did not receive any correspondence from the bank. He went back to the bank and this time they told him that he made the withdrawals. Mr. Kraay, who notes all his transactions on his computer, is certain that he did not make those withdrawals. He is still waiting for an answer from the bank to give him more clarity on what happened to his money. The Alberton RECORD is following up since Mr Kraay brought it to our attention.
