Suspect caught with stolen goods

Suspect caught after stealing a lawn mower, a high pressure hose, umbrellas and garden chairs.

ALBERTON – On Wednesday at around 03:00 one of the CPS members patrolling around Second Avenue in Verwoerd Park saw two suspects running around with stolen items.

The items were a lawn mower, a high pressure hose, umbrellas and garden chairs.

As soon as they saw the patroller, CPS reaction officers managed to apprehend one of the suspects and recover all the stolen goods.

The suspect later informed CPS and Alberton SAPS of their whereabouts and where the stolen goods came from, in Drysdale Street, Verwoerd Park.

The suspect was arrested and taken into custody at Alberton SAPS.

“We would like to inform the public that long weekends are over and crime is on the increase, and that people must please be vigilant in their surroundings and contact the control room for any suspicious activity in the Alberton area,” said Nardus Hollander. Call 011 024 2426.
