Suspects arrested during special operation

Law enforcers joined hands during a special operation on March 11, when three suspects driving a silver Toyota Fortuner were reported to be acting suspiciously.

ALBERTON – An operation was immediately put into action by Colonel Van Vuuren, station commander of Alberton SAPS, after receiving complaints about the suspects trying to break into peoples’ houses.

All the law enforcement agencies around Alberton were informed to look out and the Brackendowns SAPS also joined in the operation. At around 12:00 the vehicle was spotted in Randhart, all agencies were informed and the chase was on. The suspects were cornered at the corner of Jacqueline Street and Swartkoppies Road. Three suspects were arrested and the car was found to be reported as stolen in Brakpan.

They were charged with possession of stolen property and attempted housebreaking.
