Bringing loved ones together

He became a qualified councillor after he realised the need and shortage of a marriage councillor in the South of Johannesburg.

ALBERTON – Blue Paper Owl Counseling Services started when Martin Gouws realised the need and desire to bring people together; keeping child and parent relationships close to his heart.

“I would like to play a valuable role in seeing less divorce cases in court. Most divorces that happen, do not have to happen; it is all about knowledge and how you use it to your, and the relationship’s advantage,” said Martin.

He became a qualified counsellor after he realised the need and shortage of a marriage counsellor in the South of Johannesburg, although he focuses on everyday situations and problems which affect many people in today’s rushed and hectic lifestyles.

Martin holds child/parents communication close to his heart as that is where a child’s foundation is laid and created. “Many parents think they know how to communicate with a child, although many may not realise that they lack some of the skills for communicating and getting through to them,” said Martin convincingly.

He also told the RECORD that he works closely with any race, gender, sexuality and age or person suffering under life’s pressures, including different kinds of relationships.

Martin has always shown a keen interest and passion for working with people and has realised that people communicate with him very easily. He is down to earth and understands that many people are going through the same battles.

“I enjoy listening to and helping people. People are unique, but their problems are not. I also do volunteer work with Meals on Wheels at old age homes… especially Reuven Old Age Home, which I have been helping for almost a year,” said Martin.

Martin Gouws has put himself into the business wholeheartedly, as even the name bear’s significance: paper stands for the industry Martin used to be in, working with paper and binding books. Owl comes from an original idea to start any business with a bird in the name.

“Every person knows how to solve their problems, I am only there to facilitate and help people understand how to use that to their benefit.

“We need to make choices on the amount of information we have,” ended Martin with a smile of excitement to help his clients.
