Southern streets a disgrace protests Alberton resident

A resident from Alberton complains that there needs to be urgent intervention by the council to deal with the dirty streets in the South.

The streets in the Oakdene, Rosettenville, Towerby, Kenilworth and Townsview are a disgrace.

There is always rubbish dumped on the pavements in Prairie Street Rosettenville and in Oakdene, Albert Street, Prairie Street and North Street.

The council should impose a fine on anyone who dumps rubbish on the pavements – even if its grass cuttings.

The weeds and grass are growing in the gutters and the pavements are a disgrace.

There should be a rule like in Alberton – if you do not attend to the pavement outside your property you get a fine. Make them pay more rates.

Home owners who attend to the pavement outside their homes should get a discount in rates.

That way the rubbish won’t be dumped everywhere and we will have a respectable area.
