Residents cautioned to be extra vigilant

A warning to all residents to always be aware of who may be watching as they go about their business to avoid falling victim to criminals.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – A concerned resident has taken it upon herself to alert community members in the South and Alberton of a suspicious pair driving around looking for their next victim.

The resident reports that she and her gardener fell victim to two white men travelling in a white City Golf when the men stopped at her home in Alberton and robbed the gardener of the lawnmower.

However, the gardener’s ordeal did not end there. When he went to report the robbery incident at the Alberton SAPS, his bicycle was stolen outside the police station.

Comaro CHRONICLE News Editor Julie Maule had a scare of her own at the first Domestic Watch meeting in Mulbarton a week ago.

It was after the meeting as attendees were walking out of the venue to their vehicles, when Maule was quickly cautioned by Mondeor Community Policing Forum co-ordinator Michelle Pelser to be careful not to expose any valuables, as suspicious coloured men in a white City Golf had been watching her.

Although nothing happened, the incident left her shaken and wondering what would have occurred had Pelser not been there to warn her.

All residents are cautioned to beware of who is following them or if there may be any suspicious individuals scouting their movements.
