Accident with two trucks causes a massive pile-up

Trucks cause traffic jam on Voortrekker Road

ON January 3, on Voortrekker Road just before the intersection turns onto Vlei and Pieterse streets, an accident with two trucks occured which caused a build-up of traffic. One of the trucks was stuck on the side of the road on the island without a driver while the other was stationery with a driver present.

The driver who explained that the truck he was driving was from Game and Trucking services, said that the truck was broken due to a faulty prop-shaft.

The other truck had attempted to pass other drivers but accidently drove into the side of the island of Voortrekker Road and into a ditch and as unable to reverse out, according to an onlooker.

DNS towing came around at 14:37 to attend to the Game and Trucking truck.

Qadeer Julius, a school student on his way home, said,” I noticed that there was an accident and I immediately reacted.” Qadeer Julius helped in directing the traffic on the scene.
