ALBERTON – Stall owners at the old shopping centre thought New Year’s eve would be peaceful without any burglaries, after the three burglaries in the cell phone stall in December.

Just when they thought it was over and that business could go on without fear, the thieves made their return with no fear or respect.

On Monday night January 20, the thieves cut a big hole through the steel mesh at George Brandis’s stall and stole vegetables and steel shelves.

“What sin have I committed to be punished by these stealing youngsters? I can’t count how many times they have broken into my stall and stole all my fruit and vegetables, which are my only means of income to provide food for me and my wife.

“They took bags of potatoes and onions and even took the steel shelves. In December the cell phone repair shop next door was burgled three times, and now in January I was next.

“We suspect the same boys of Alfa Street, who are always sitting near our stalls. They have been arrested, get bailed out and just continue doing their evil work, but an end will come,” said the sad pensioner, George.
