Miss Earth gears up for 2014 Stationery Drive

Two powerhouse industry giants aim to extend their reach and touch even more children’s lives with the stationery drive initiative

JOHANNESBURG – Miss Earth SA in partnership with Caxton South Local Newspapers are gearing up again in 2014 for the start of the Miss Earth Stationery Drive.

“In February 2013 you assisted by donating to our stationery drive. We would respectfully like to ask if it would be possible to support our initiative again for 2014.

“Your donation goes towards providing pens, pencils, rulers and crayons, for children who would otherwise not have any stationery. Every donation is needed and appreciated,” said Miss Earth South Africa National Director, Catherine Constantides.

The call goes out to communities to assist in realizing yet another successful stationery drive, which in 2013 saw thousands of learners receiving stationery packs and exercise books.

Over 7000 learners’ lives were enriched through this worthy initiative, which took place in February last year. The goal in 2014 is to reach over 2000 learners this February.

“The contributions of the public make it possible for us to equip these learners with the stationery they need to make the most of their education,” said Catherine in 2013.
