Thieves steal funeral food

It is a shame to have thieves who go as low as to steal food prepared for a funeral of a child at 20 Vanguard Street.

EDEN PARK – On Thursday November 21, Dorith Fortuin of Vanguard Street and her family had everything prepared for her grand-daughter’s funeral the following day.

“When the family went to bed on Thursday night, all refreshments were prepared and everyone’s clothing pressed and ready. When we got up early on Friday we realised that all the food was gone from the kitchen.

The thieves had stolen all the food and biscuits, microwave and everybody’s attire bought for the funeral.

“How the b—-y thieves managed to open the door without anyone hearing, is still a miracle. We had to run around to prepare other refreshments and to buy new clothing.

“Those who did this caused us double expenses and double sadness and mourning. We did not open a case with the police but we have a tip-off as to who could possibly be responsible for the theft,” said the sad and perturbed Dorith Fortuin.

This case requires the investigation of the whole community. Everybody should investigate and help the Fortuin family before this fashion of theft becomes a norm.
