Sponsor a guide-dog

The South African Guide-dog Association for the Blind is appealing to communities to support them by sponsoring towards the training of guide-dogs.

JOHANNESBURG – These dogs all get 10 out of 10 for enthusiasm and sticking to long and intensive training, to one day become the eyes for somebody who is blind or visually impaired.

All costs for their training is carried by the Association and training starts at a very early age where the dogs are trained to be sociable with people and other dogs, how to act in traffic and on all means of transport and what is acceptable in busy shopping centres. Slowly but surely their confidence is build in order for them to handle any situation.

You can assist in training one of these dogs by making the following donations:

R150 towards a collar, lead and food bowl

R250 towards the dog’s day to day care

R350 towards the dog’s harness

R500 for a day visit by the advisor to access training

R700 towards veterinary bills, or

An amount of your choice to be used where most needed, or

A monthly donation via debit order.
