Reading adds more prestige

With an ever increasing demand, the Reading Country Club has added an brand new conference facility

NEW REDRUTH – Reading Country Club in New Redruth has added yet another facility to its already prestigious clubhouse.

The two smaller upstairs venues have been broken out and turned into one large, airy and spacious venue with its own bar, toilet facilities and a separate entrance. This space is now an ideal venue for conferences, year end parties, weddings, birthday parties and product launches.

Reading Country Club, once referred to by golfing greats Bobby Locke and Gary Player as one of the most beautiful parklands in the world, boasts a rich history and has gone from strength to strength since 1939 when a group of families got together and bought this 140 acres of land.

The original clubhouse was raised to the ground in September 1949 in a disastrous fire. A new clubhouse was built, but due to a portion of the club property expropriated in order to complete the East West Bypass in 1975, the new clubhouse as it stands today, was built and completed in 1977.

This new upstairs facility, says club manager, Dave Smith, can accommodate up to 60 people seated and up to a 100 for a cocktail type function. In addition, a covered patio with 270 degree view of surrounding golf course and stunning gardens, lends to the exclusivity of the venue.

“We pride ourselves in a flexible management style and will go to great lengths to assist wherever possible,” says Dave. “Our rates are highly competitive and we offer a variety of menus to suit all tastes and budgets.”
