Patients insulted daily at clinic

Patients have to endure horrible conditions when visiting the clinic in Eden Park.

EDEN PARK – Patients are daily reporting or complaining to the RECORD about the horrible and dehumanising insults and verbal abuse they have to endure from an employee whose duty is only to control the seating and the queuing in the waiting rooms of the local clinic.

On Wednesday November 6, the record found Lydia Carolus sitting alone in the empty clinic and tearfully explained her sad ordeal with the insulting employee: “The man insulted me in front of all the patients calling me a half-coloured. When I retaliated, he brought a nurse to me and instructed the nurse not to supply me with my diabetic medication.”

Lydia had to wait until 17:00 for her medication from the nurse in charge who was contacted by the police.

Having suffered the same insults and verbal abuse from the same employee, the RECORD kept her company until she received her medication.

“The man insulted a seventy two-year-old lady in words not proper to be printed. It looks as if everybody at the clinic is afraid of this rude man. He insults people and states in public their medical conditions or their sickness. He gave me my file and said I must go to another clinic because he doesn’t want me there. This was my second confrontation with this man,” said Lydia.
