Take time to register to vote

The Democratic Alliance reminds Ekurhuleni residents that they can only bring about the change they want if they are registered voters.

ALBERTON – On the weekend of Saturday and Sunday November 9 and 10 all voting stations across the country will be open between 08:00 and 17:00 for people to register for the 2014 General Election.

The election in Gauteng promises to be a closely fought one and a single vote could be the one that determines which party governs this vital province after the election.

People who should register are those who have never registered before or those who have moved since the 2011 Local Government Election. If, for example, a person has moved to Gauteng but is registered outside of the province, they will not be allowed to vote on the provincial ballot paper which makes it imperative that they re-register.

People needing to know where they are already registered or where to go and register should SMS their ID number to 43165 from which the DA will assist, at a cost of 50 cents per SMS.
