Keeping the wheels of charity work rolling

“We are forever grateful to Atlas Copco, who on a previous occasion donated two Isuzu bakkies and a Toyota Quantum mini-bus to Amcare,” says Percy Howroyd, administrator.

NEWMARKET – Through the generosity and continued support of industrial group, Atlas Copco, the Amcare Centre of Faith, Hope & Love in New Market Park was able to replace two of its vehicles with two new Nissan Livina demo models.

Their fleet consists of 13 vehicles with a fuel account averaging R20 000 per month. “Our vehicles are used to deliver food, fetching and carrying patients to and from our Injabulo clinic, also the carrying and fetching of patients to other clinics and hospitals and the fetching of donations. In addition, our social workers use vehicles to visit their clients and assist with the clients’ transport needs,” explains Percy.

The upkeep and maintenance of the vehicles is the responsibility of Amcare, and as Percy explains; “without transport, we will most certainly not be able to deliver the services we currently do.”

Kgothatso Masekela, Corporate Communications Manager at Atlas Copco, said that Atlas Copco was thrilled to be involved in the purchase of these vehicles and know that it will go a long way in assisting Amcare to continue with their many outreach projects.
