New school in Palm Ridge

With schools being over-crowded, the new school brings a welcome relief.

“THE building of this secondary school has been long overdue. Ward 58 has 13 448 households with only five primary schools and three secondary schools, which creates big problems every January.

“The three secondary schools are always over-crowded with big classes. This new school will relieve the pressure,” Pienaar said.

Previously, and up to now, the three secondary schools could not accommodate all the learners from the primary schools. Enrolling learners at the beginning of the year has been a hectic challenge for many parents, especially when parents are referred to other schools beyond Ward 58.

“This will be a state of the art jewel for our ward and the pride of the community. This development by the government is what we have been waiting for. It will hopefully be completed by the end of this year,” Pienaar concluded.
