Ladies doing the heavy lifting

In a predominately male industry, JMB Cranes stands out as a female managed and owned company.

ALBERTON – The company was founded by Janet Skinner in 2007, after a history of working within the abnormal transport industry. Her company is now concerned with mobile crane operations, which Janet says is the perfect challenge.

Janet’s passion to provide a good service, while ensuring that the lifts are safe, has kept her motivated for the last seven years. She speaks with particular pride about a recent project with Heineken Breweries factories. JMB was instrumental in building and installing new fermentation tanks; de-stuffing containers, and offloading abnormal loads for the factory.

The company has a large fleet of mobile crane units that operate throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Janet credits her team as an integral part of her company’s success. JMB’s company ethos is stated as: “Our employees are our most cherished assets. We believe that teamwork, sustainable employment and opportunities for growth and development are key drivers to ensure that our loyal employees grow with this very dynamic company. JMB Cranes provides its employees with continuous training to constantly keep up with the high standards that we insist to maintain.”
