Alberton – Cakes and Cookies Home Industry in New Redruth Village, Shop 5A (next to the Wimpy) in St Austell Street, Alberton has all types of home baked goods and confectionary items.
The shop has a selection of biscuits made the old traditional way and ‘like ouma made it’, said owner Willie de Beer. There are rusks, cakes (all types), tarts, savouries, pastry shells, homemade jam, homemade sweets and more to choose from.
“We have people from all over who come to enjoy our koeksisters, cakes and cookies.”
The shop also keeps true to tradition by having biltong, droëwors and chilli bites for their customers.
The prices of cakes are dependent on size, design and decorations you select from.
