[GALLERY + VIDEOS]: Fun things to do on Workers’ Day

Figuring out what to do should not be hard work.

WORKER’S Day is celebrated yearly on May 1 to salute the workers of South Africa which are celebrated by workers and people around the world.

This public holiday is a testimony to the hard battles that workers in this country and in other parts of the globe have waged for workers’ rights and social justice over many decades. So for those who did not go away for the long weekend.

Here are some fun things to do:

• Rietvlei Zoo Farm offers a wide range of recreation, education, sport and family outdoor activities.

• The Glen for some shopping or even a movie at NuMetro. They also have a new food court.

• Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve where hiking is the main thing.

• Stay in and make a family bed. Get some popcorn and movies ready for this one.

• Have a ‘braai’ and invite family and friends over.

• Visit Jackson Dam. They have ‘braai’ facilities and also a fun playground for the little ones. Your pet can also go along.

• Go for crazy rides at Gold Reef City, they will be open.

• Check out for great buffet specials at the restaurants and go for a treat.

• Play some golf at the local golf estates.

• Go jump at I-Jump which is in The Glen and also at Mall of the South.

• Go fishing at nearby dams and spent the day there.

Whatever you plan to do, just make sure you are enjoying your day off and make sure that you celebrate Workers’ Day.
