A year of success.

ACADEMIC Success, a homeschooling tutoring centre in Brackenhurst, recently celebrated their first birthday.

The day began with a large family bed and a big screen movie. After that, the children were introduced to some wild animals like snakes and spiders by visitors from The Wild Ones.

CUTE: Owl cupcakes were handed out during the celebration of Academic Success’ first birthday.

Learners celebrated the rest of the day by swimming and jumping on jumping castles.

“When I opened the centre I started with one learner and a year later we have 35 learners and nine staff members,” said Lizeth Kotzé, principal.

INTERESTING: Eileen Schoeman with a snake.

Each learner also got a party pack and the teachers wore purple shirts. There was also an owl cupcake, which is the centre’s logo, for everyone. According to deputy principal, Ona du Plessis, she has seen so much growth in the first year.

“In 2017, we ended the year with 10 learners and just look how we have grown. I can’t wait for the next years to come,” she said.

Lizeth described the first year of the school with one word, success.
