Decorating cakes for a good cause

Tutela thanked the organisers for their help.

MORE than R4 000 was made during the Kiddies Cake Carnival that took place on May 21 at Food Lovers Market in New Market.

The main objective of this event was to donate all the proceedings to Tutela Alberton (formerly known as CMR).

According to Jurie Gagiano, bakery manager at Food Lovers Market, this was their way of giving back. “I went on Google and searched for non-profit organisations and Tutela was first on my page,” he said. He also said that it was a huge success and they will do it again.

Members from Tutela will go and buy food during next week for their foster care training programme. With this programme, Tutela gives training to potential foster parents.

With a number of families participating, this turned out to be a fun day out. Children got their faces painted, decorated their own cakes and won prizes. Elrine van Rensburg, office head and marketing manager from Tutela, thanked the organisers for their help, which enables Tutela to make a change in the lives of the needy.
