THE last weekend in November was filled with excitement, memories and celebration at Alberton Dancing Academy.

Audiences were entertained by the academy’s students at their year-end showcase and parents generously gave donations towards Stepping Stones Hospice and the Paige Bedworth Fund, which were gratefully received.

Past and present students held a surprise party to celebrate “50 years” on the following Sunday with students coming from as far as Portugal, Botswana, Pietermaritzburg and Port Elizabeth to join in the fun. Those who couldn’t be there in person sent emails and letters.

Norma Neervoort, founder of the academy, said: “It was such a surprise and so amazing to see so many past students, a truly special experience that took a lot of organising to pull off and was very much appreciated.”

Alberton Dancing Academy wishes everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2016. The studio opens on January 13. Phone 011 907 8356 or email: desa@telkomsa.net for more information.
