Always and Forever – A tribute to Luther Vandross
Timothy Moloi, South Africa’s man with the velvet voice, will stage a one night only tribute show to Luther Vandross at The Lyric Theatre in Gold Reef City on Friday, August 14.
ORMONDE – Always and Forever – A Tribute to Luther Vandross, is set to thrill audiences with an unforgettable portrayal of global hits such as Superstar, Always and Forever, Endless Love, Power of Love, Dance With My Father and many
more. Moloi will be backed by South Africa’s best live musicians, vocalists Nonhlanhla Mdluli, Kurt Herman and Tia Herman and the Voices Unlimited Gospel Choir.
“For a long time I have wanted a platform where I could pay tribute to Luther Vandross as I have admired and been inspired by him for as long as I can remember.
“What will make the evening even more special is that we’ve planned the date specifically so that it’s the night before my fortieth birthday and a what better way to celebrate this milestone than by paying tribute to a man that was at the forefront of the music that defined a generation,” says Moloi.
“I am blessed to be performing alongside these incredibly talented musicians and by having friends, family, colleagues and fans in the audience being part of it.”
The Colab Network will be providing the show’s lighting design. “We have had the privilege of working with Timothy Moloi on many occasions and every time we have, I have seen people come up to Tim and say that he should do a Luther show. So when Tim approached me with the idea he calmly went ahead and sang a Luther song, it was a no-brainer, I decided then and there to go ahead.” says Collett Dawson, co-founder of The CoLab Network.
