Police take a stand against drugs

"Be part of the nation by giving the police information about drugs, no matter how small."

ALBERTON police are trying their best to keep the town drug free and that was evident when officers from the K9 Unit recently arrested yet another man in possession of drugs.

The 29-year-old man was arrested on February 5 in Alberton North for the possession of dagga.

Sergeant Phora Nkuna, Alberton SAPS spokesperson, said that members of the unit noticed the suspect acting suspicious when he saw them and that was when the police arrested him.

The suspect appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on February 8 and was granted bail.

The police appeal to anyone with information about drugs to come forward and share information. “Drugs kill the nation and by arresting dealers and users we are building a better nation. Be part of the nation by giving the police information about drugs, no matter how small,” Nkuna said.

Report any crime to Alberton SAPS on 011 861 6850.
