Lights! Camera! Action!

The Figures Models and Talent Alberton branch performed well at the International Model and Talent Association (IMTA) finals.

THE weekend of the International Models and Talent Association (IMTA) finals began on Saturday, February 6, at the Roodepoort Youth Theatre. The talent divisions, singing, dancing and acting, were performed and judged on the same day.

Sunday, February 7, marked the beginning of the pre-teen and senior modelling competition. All the contestants were dressed in an IMTA top and black bottoms; making the decisions difficult for the judges as according to Emma Griffin-Coetzer, the Figures Alberton spokesperson, “each of the contestants were outstanding”.

Alberton had 25 contestants that qualified for the IMTA finals. There were 11 top scorers – one singer, two dancers, two actors, three pre-teen models and three senior models. Rixongile Makamu placed second in the senior model division. The winner in each division won an all-expenses paid trip to the prestigious IMTA Convention in New York in July this year. All contestants that took part in the IMTA finals have officially been invited to attend the New York IMTA Convention and require sponsors to realize their dreams.
