It is the December holidays and many employees receive holiday bonuses which sometimes turn people into feeble-minded spenders who give criminals and robbers a good chance to put their tricks into practice.
Captain Vusi Mhlophe of Eden Park SAPS warns the community to be vigilant and alert at all times during the festive season.
“Don’t withdraw large sums of money at one time and if you do and notice that you are followed, drive to the nearest SAPS station.
“Building contractors who pay out wages at working sites, please don’t tell workers when these wages will be withdrawn and do not keep a big stash of cash onsite,” Mhlophe said.
