ALBERTON – Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) worked with the EMPD Germiston Crime Prevention Task Team as well as the SAPS Crime Intelligence Unit on Tuesday, November 24, to arrest a woman found in possession of methcathinone (cat) valued at approximately R9 000.
Cash amounting to R33 800, was also found and confiscated when the arrest was made at 11:50 in Edenpark.
Armed with information gathered on the suspected drug dealings at a house on Ariel Street in Ext.5, law enforcers raided the house and confiscated not less than 100 zip-lock bags of cat and hard cash believed to be the proceeds from the drug sales. Three IDs and two passports suspected to be a form of surety from clients were also confiscated.
The arrested 46-year-old woman was charged with the possession and dealing in illicit substances. The suspect is expected to appear in the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, November 25.
