Man (60) escapes helicopter crash

ALBERTON – ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring reported that paramedics and other services arrived on scene to find the helicopter in the middle of the field.

“Two occupants were found seated next to the helicopter,” he said. “On assessment, paramedics found that one man had sustained moderate injuries in the incident. The second occupant, a man, fortunately escaped without injuries.”

Paramedics treated the patient before he was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a private hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the incident is unknown but local authorities were on scene to investigate.
