Idols SA: Rhema looks forward to a great musical future

PRETORIA – Rhema Varrie’s Idols dream came to an end on Sunday, November 15, after he was voted out of the competition.
Twenty-one-year-old Rhema, an Eden Park resident, had an amazing journey and finished strong as the second runner-up in the nationwide competition. The youngster proved to be a skilled pianist, guitarist and a prolific vocalist who wowed the audience with his unique voice and diversity.
- GREAT SUPPORT: Rhema’s family and friends supported him week after week at the live recordings of Idols SA at the State theatre in Pretoria.
“I am okay but I didn’t come here to lose the competition,” said a tired and subdued Rhema on Sunday.
“I don’t want it to end here; I want to carry on making music. That is my dream and I will work hard to make it happen. So much is hanging in the air right now and I am not sure how everything will pan out.”

Rhema and the other top nine contestants are still staying in the Idols house to rehearse for the Idols finale on Sunday, November 22. Mmatema Moremi and Karabo Mogane are the last two competitors who will battle it out for the coveted title on Sunday night.

Lani Lombard, from M-Net and one of the main organisers of the competition, told the RECORD that Rhema did exceptionally well and that he just needs to stay focused on his strengths because he has the making to be a great artist.
