Alleged rapists on the prowl

Alberton SAPS encourages people to rather walk in groups than alone.

Alberton SAPS have issued a warning to residents to be on the look out for two men who allegedly rob and rape women at knife point between Verwoerdpark and Roodekop.

Sergeant Phora Nkuna, the police spokesperson, said the victims were mostly women who walked alone.

“The open spaces behind the Alberton Rugby Club, Makro and the BP Garage on the corner of Heidelberg and Old Vereeniging roads are hot spots.”

Nkuna advises women, especially those who are using the route in the mornings and late afternoons to be more vigilant and walk together in groups.

The duo are dangerous and if seen the police should be contacted immediately on 011 861 6900/21/22/23 or 071 675 6871/3/4/5/6/7.
