SA Championships at Alrode

Alrode BMX Club, situated on the corner of Dan Jacobs and Bosworth roads, will host the last two legs of the National Age Group (NAG) Series on Saturday, October 10. Riders from as far as Zimbabwe, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal will be competing for series honours.

ALBERTON- Alrode BMX Club, situated on the corner of Dan Jacobs and Bosworth roads, will host the last two legs of the National Age Group (NAG) Series on Saturday, October 10. Riders from as far as Zimbabwe, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal will be competing for series honours.

Other legs of the eight-leg NAG Series were hosted in April and July at the Germiston and Pietermaritzburg BMX Clubs.

On Sunday, October 11, the 2015 South African National BMX Championships takes place at the same Alrode venue. The event, sanctioned by the International Cycling Union (UCI), will see the national champions crowned in the different age groups. Riders from age five to 40 years and older will be competing to be crowned as national champions.

Alrode BMX Club members are ranked high in the national standings across the different age groups, boasting a number of national champions as well as world ranked riders. Some of these riders are:

Kyle Dodd elite national champion, Alex Limberg elite runner- up, Kane Herbert world number three cruiser men (25-29), Byron Robertson SA number two men (25 and over), Bryan O’Shea national champion men (17-24), Lloyd Dodd SA number two men (17-24), Brandon Pratt national champion cruiser men (16-29), Jarod Ellse national champion u.14 boys, Connor Terblanche world number five and national champion u.13 boys, Evan Fouche national champion u.10 boys, Melissa Robertson SA number two u.8 girls and Salvador Cronje SA number two u.7 boys.

Racing starts at 10:00 on Saturday and 09:00 on Sunday.
