Spring dinner for Woman@Work

Ladies celebrated the start of spring at the Woman@Work dinner held on Wednesday, September 9, at the Glenvista Country Club.

JOHANNESBURG – Coordinator of Woman@Work, Toni Mackrell, welcomed the ladies to the spring dinner and introduced Shelby Zimmerman from the Sunflower Foundation as well as guest speaker, Octavia Ephraim.

Shelby explained what the Sunflower Foundation is about and encouraged ladies to support National Bandana Day on October 12. “The Sunflower Fund was originally formed in 1999 in support of the SA Bone Marrow Registry, which helps find and match bone marrow stem cell donors to patients who need a transplant,” she said.

Octavia, the founder and CEO of OCTAPEAR, an image consulting firm specialising in executive and entrepreneur image management and personal development coaching, emphasised that spring is the time to spring clean yourself so that you can be the best you, you can be. “In our busy lives we have to make time for ourselves and in doing this we can help others to become the best they can be.”
