The Parlotones have toured extensively across Southern Africa, Europe, UK and America with a few visits to Japan, South America and Australia.

JOHANNESBURG – Parlotones have announced the second leg of their nationwide tour which is set to arrive at Gold Reef City’s The Lyric Theatre on Wednesday, September 23.

The band’s latest album Antiques and Artefacts is yet another best-seller for one of South Africa’s best musical exports. Fans can look forward to a variety of new songs and also fan favourites like Beautiful, Push Me To The Floor, Giant Mistake, I’m Only Human, Disappear Without A Trace and Baby Be Mine.

“The Parlotones have a massive fan base in Johannesburg and we are delighted to bring them to The Lyric, where music lovers will have the opportunity to revel in the group’s electric showmanship, poetic lyrics and darkly romantic melodies,” said Gareth Kaschula, marketing manager at Gold Reef City.

The Parlotones have toured extensively across Southern Africa, Europe, UK and America with a few visits to Japan, South America and Australia. They have released seven full length studio albums, headlined the 20 000-seater Coca-Cola Dome, performed to an audience of a billion at the 2010 World Cup kick-off concert and were handpicked by Coldplay to open the British band’s stadium shows in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

“The Lyric has established itself as a hugely popular live-music venue attracting many of South Africa’s top bands and performers. Part of the appeal of The Lyric is the state-of-the-art sound and lighting and its capacity to host large audiences. This is a great place for The Parlotones to once again wow their Johannesburg fans and music lovers alike”, Kaschula added.

Tickets are available from Computicket and the Gold Reef City’s Box Office and start at R200 per person. Doors open at 20:00.
