Unique double stunt waiting for fans

Enrico Schoeman and André de Kock set a new Guinness World Record in 2014 for riding a motorcycle through a fire tunnel.

DARING duo, Enrico Schoeman and André de Kock from Alberton, will attempt another death defying fire stunt at the Rhino Rally in Parys.

Last year the pair rode a motorcycle through a fire tunnel and this stunt ensured that the duo set a new Guinness World Record. Preparations for this year’s stunt at the Rhino Rally are in full swing.

The rally, over the weekend of September 4 and 5, will see a unique double stunt, involving two burning caravans, a burning car and a motorcycle, on the Friday evening.

Enrico will jump a motorcycle through two burning caravans, parked side by side at the end of the road. A split second later, André will use a pipe ramp to barrel-roll a burning car through the same two caravans, landing on car wrecks placed further on.

Both the car and several steel ramps have been constructed, while a dedicated group of experts are involved with the rest of the preparations.

Schoeman has completed two practice sessions, jumping through fires the exact length of the two caravans, in a structure positioned on the premises of main event sponsor RGC Brokers.

The two stuntmen will also do a number of practice runs, without fire, at the stunt venue in Parys.

“We need to thank many people who are involved, without whose help the whole stunt simply would not happen,” said Enrico Schoeman. The involved sponsors are RGC Brokers, NJR Steel, BikeSA, First Race, Auto Classics, Rave Castings, HMI Service Station, Cayenne Motorcycles, Henelec Switchboards and Life Adventures.
