‘The homeless are not so innocent’

A security company retaliated against the accusations, saying that they do things by the book and that the homeless are not as innocent as they say they are.

ALBERTON – According to the security company’s owner, who made it clear that the allegations are based on hearsay, the claims are defamatory and untruthful and they will take action should their names be mentioned. It was said that the people living on the streets are all responsible for and guilty of petty crimes.

It was mentioned that they are the culprits stealing manhole covers and many forms of steel, which they sell as scrap metal.

“These are the people we arrest for going into residents’ properties and stealing things like bicycles,” the owner said.

”When they need a fix they will steal and sell the stolen goods. We are doing our jobs in keeping Alberton safe and we try to keep the streets safe for our residents.”

The owner also stated that none of his employees have any cases or charges against them.

At the time of our deadline, only one of the security companies had commented on the allegations.
