Masande FC won on goal difference to capture their second consecutive title.

THE Nike Training Centre in Orlando was packed to the rafters on Saturday, July 11, as football lovers came out in their numbers to watch the 2015 Carling League of Champions final.

The fourth edition of the community football festival culminated in emphatic fashion as Madande FC claimed the coveted title, over X20, and managed to grab their second consecutive title in what has become one of the most sought after community soccer tournaments.

From 60 teams across the country, X20, Cosmo City FC, Swallows FC, PMB All Stars, White Jazz FC and Masande FC were the final six teams competing for the coveted Carling League of Champions trophy. The final saw two motivated and confident teams come out with guns blazing in hopes of winning the R30000 grand prize and an unforgettable trip to the highly anticipated Carling Black Label Cup next month.

“Underlying the success of the Carling League of Champions is the strong vision that Carling Black Label has of celebrating everyday men for the champions that they truly are. With the Carling League of Champions, we went out to different parts of the country and through an exciting tournament provided a unique opportunity for communities to feel like champions. The highlight of this year’s tournament was the way in which we saw communities come out in their numbers to rally behind their heroes,” said Nqobile Ka-Mbonane, marketing manager for Carling Black Label.
