Girl (10) has hands pierced by palisades

BRACKENHURST – Masilo (10) and Lerato Thombela (9) were playing in their front yard in Pongola Street on Thursday, July 9, when Masilo, trying to climb over their palisade gate, got stuck on the fence.

Both of Masilo’s hands were pierced by the sharp pointed palisades. A passerby helped Masilo off the gate while neighbours alerted Fox Security to the incident.

Emergency services arrived on the scene and gave Masilo medical attention but they could, however, not transport her to hospital without the consent of her parents.

Masilo and Lerato were left under adult supervision until their father, Steven arrived home from his work in Randfontein.

Steven later took Masilo to receive further medical attention.
