Jessica has passion for working with animals and children

Local girl, Jessica Janse Van Rensburg, has made it to the regional finals in the Miss Earth South Africa contest and has come a long way since the day she first entered the competition.

ALBERTON – “This journey has been important to me because I have always had a passion for education and working with animals and children, and Miss Earth South Africa has provided the platform for me.”

Jessica has been involved with various organisations and sponsors to help green the communities. She has also worked with several local schools and an old age home.

“All of my greening goods have been sponsored by Thaba Eco Hotel, Kliprivier Urban Biodiversity Corridor and Keen Gro Nursery. My funding was sponsored by EQfin, Alex Pullinger, Dave Howe and Webtour Getaways.

“A huge thank you goes to all who have helped me on my green journey so far. I have planted vegetable gardens and trees in aiding environmental education and have also run a collection for the Animal Anti-Cruelty League where I received a huge donation from my community.

“I have also implemented some waste management projects alongside doing presentations at schools in order to raise awareness about sustainable living,” Jessica said.

In the next few weeks, Jessica will be participating in various activities with the Miss Earth South Africa team, including a visit to Lulama Primary School in Soweto for Mandela Day.
