The Bag Lady

Another week of winter done and dusted and another week closer to spring!

I was going to tell you how many weeks remaining until Christmas but thought better of it and will leave that little surprise for a while.

Beautifully fragranced hand wash

While I was in the UK a friend of mine had a hand wash in her bathroom which I liked the fragrance of and the feeling of softness it left on my hands. So off I went to Sainsbury’s and purchased one to bring home. It’s Imperial Leather, Summer Sunrise Shea Butter and Honeysuckle Cocooning Hand Wash and it’s lovely. However, I can’t find it in the shops here, although DisChem does sell Imperial Leather hand washes in other fragrances.

I’ve bought the Japanese Spa Nourishing Hand Wash with green tea, rice milk and jasmine. If anyone on their travels sees the Summer Sunrise Hand Wash, please let me know.

Have you seen this?

I had a recipe in The Bag Lady a few weeks ago (Apple Charlotte) and it calls for shredded suet. I bought a box of The Original Atora Shredded Suet a while ago and I’m sure I purchased it in a Checkers store but it could have been a Pick n Pay. A lady phoned me desperate to find it, she’s been to a few shops and no one has it.  It’s a particularly handy ingredient and can be used in puddings, dumplings, pastries and pies. If you see it on your travels, be sure to let me know. Thank you.

Bouquet of the Week

Dennis Theck gives a bouquet to Martin Willmers of The Alberton Service Delivery Centre. “Thanks for going the extra mile to help me sort out the problem on my account. He fixed what he could then arranged with two other departments to do the adjustments applicable to them. Much appreciated”

Lemon of the Week

I bought a lemon meringue tart a few weeks ago from a local supermarket and it was absolutely disgusting and after trying to make it taste better adding fresh cream and lemon curd, gave up and took it back. I was reimbursed with my money.

Another reader also sampled a lemon meringue from the same supermarket and equally described the tart as vile!

The supermarket has been contacted for comment so I’m hoping I’ll have a reply for next week.

That’s it for this week. Shop till you drop!
