Figures Alberton takes three crowns

Figures Models and Talent Alberton achieved at the National Intern Competition.

ALBERTON – Figures Models and Talent Alberton achieved a triple crown win on Saturday, June 6. Two important competitions took place for the Figures franchise at the Roodepoort Theatre.

In the National Intern Competition 12 interns from around the country competed against each other, in the morning, to win the big prize of an all-expenses paid trip to New York to participate in the IMTA, an International Model and Talent Convention.

Alberton’s Intern, Gabriella Ferreira, was announced the overall winner after presenting a speech onstage and signing up the most new students during her internship.

The International Model of the Year competition took place in the afternoon with over 100 students competing nationally for yet another all-expenses paid trip to New York.

“This was a tough competition as ages ranged from 12 to 23 years with both young men and ladies participating,” Emma Griffin, Figures Alberton spokesperson explained.

After much deliberation, the judges announced the three winners and Alberton came out on top once again, taking the winner and first runner-up positions. Danielle van Randen, a Grade 11 learner at Alberton High, was the winner and Cassy Glad, a Grade 9 learner at Hoërskool Marais Viljoen, took the runner-up position.

“Both Gabriella and Danielle are guaranteed an experience of a lifetime when they participate in the IMTA in New York in July. We wish them good luck and every possible golden opportunity that may come their way. We are very proud of Gabriella, Danielle and Cassy,” Emma added.
