In her address she advised residents to always use their judgement with regard to any issue that concerns them.

She mentioned that they should be able to condemn or praise the government whenever needed and also elaborated on the province’s vision and the 10-pillar programme for radical transformation, modernisation and re-industrialisation (TMR).

After her address, the MEC allowed residents to ask questions, make suggestions and state general complaints. Many concerns were about poor service at the clinic, hospital and local police station, which serve a big area.

The MEC instructed the social workers who were present at the meeting to address residents with social issues on the spot.

Every concern was noted and a promise of feed-back by the social workers and the delivery of food parcels was given.
