Total South Africa hands over 11 trucks to two worthy recipients.

ALBERTON-Total South Africa handed over 11 trucks to two worthy beneficiaries of the Total South Africa Siyakhula Enterprise Development Program.

The handover was part of a ceremony at Tank Clinic in Alrode, a leading South African manufacturer of road transportation tankers. Tank Clinic hosted the dignitaries in style with a beautiful red Bedouin tent and refreshments.

The tankers, worth R16 000 000, will add to the existing fleets of Anax Logistics and Makwande Supply and Distribution transport and logistics network. The managing directors of these two companies shared the challenges of their journey.

Nono Chili from Makwande said; “Sleepless nights don’t worry us anymore.”

As a responsible corporate citizen, Total South Africa is constantly looking for innovative ways to grow small and medium businesses in South Africa.

“We are delighted to fulfill a vital role in assisting Anax and Makwande with the means to expand their fleet network. It is essential for vibrant economies that corporates such as Total play an active role to support their communities in achieving their ambitions,” adds Christian des Closières, Managing Director and CEO of Total South Africa.

Siyakhula which means “we are growing” is part of Total’s commitment of growing the businesses of black enterprises. Through the project, the selected individuals and companies are empowered with the tools they need to develop into medium to large business owners, and will help them to establish themselves in their respective markets and expand their networks.

Nona Chili, Managing Director at Makwande and Eric Mgqibelo, CEO of Anax Logistics, expressed their gratitude to Total for providing them with the required assistance in securing the financing they needed. They both thanked Standard Bank for their financial support over the past years.

“Over the long term we will continue to prioritise enterprise development as one of our strategic objectives through our Siyakhula Enterprise Development Program,” concluded des Closière
