Top Karate club in the South

Instructors from the Cobras Shotokan Karate club in Brackenhurst, Sensei Laurent, Nicholas and Andrea, were recently selected as part of the team to represent South Africa at the WUKF Seniors and Veterans World Cup in Dublin, Ireland in June 2016.

ALBERTON – The Cobras Shotokan karate club, established in 1996, has been operating in Alberton for almost 20 years, and continues to go from strength to strength. Senior Instructor Sensei Laurent Gaston-Bellegarde (6th Dan Black Belt) and his son Sensei Nicholas Gaston-Bellegarde (4th Dan Black Belt) boast various national and international achievements. They are very proud of their club’s achievements to date.

Assistant instructors Sensei Andrea Kolkenbeck-Ruh (3rd Dan black Belt) and Sensei Paul Da Silva (3rd Dan Black Belt) also teach at the Cobras Shotokan Karate dojo. With a minimum of three instructors in their beginner’s classes, the Cobras club is truly able to cater to all needs for all ages. The club is able to give both our adult and children students all the attention they require.

Karate is excellent for fitness, self-defence, discipline and confidence and is suitable for all members of the family. So come and join us today to experience what great quality karate is all about. We offer classes for all ages from six years and up. The club trains on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 17:30 to 18:30 at Glenview Primary School in Brackenhurst.
