EDEN PARK – The complainant, a driver of a cigarette delivery vehicle, opened a case of hijacking at Eden Park SAPS on March 4, claiming he was hijacked in Mbongolo Street, Palmridge and that the suspect got away with 12 boxes of cigarettes.
According to the police report, the driver said that while he was driving down the street, a man fell in front of his vehicle and he applied brakes. The man suddenly jumped up with two stones in his hands and instructed him to get out of the vehicle.
The driver further alleged that two other suspects jumped into the vehicle on the passenger side, and that they offloaded the boxes of cigarettes into another vehicle in a few seconds, before speeding off.
