The Bag Lady

Hope you all enjoyed a loving weekend (Valentine’s Day) and those who believe in giving and receiving gifts were pleasantly surprised.

There was an awful lot of hype about it this year and shops were bursting with every imaginable gift.

Easter is next and early this year with Good Friday on April 3, a long weekend where many of you will be making the most of it and maybe having a couple of days away. Book early to avoid being disappointed, as school holidays also fall over this time.

It’s been another hectic week and February is racing by, but my colleague and I still found a spare hour to pop into a beautiful coffee shop in Brackenhurst.

Focus on Local

La Vie est Rose Café is situated in Gemstone Office Park, 36 Hennie Alberts Street, corner Holzgen Road, Brackenhurst, owned by Justine Diamond and managed by Corné Pentz.

The décor is charming and it will make a perfect venue for baby showers, bridal showers, high teas or birthday parties.

What I really like is the menu is not too extensive, making it much easier for me to choose something delicious to eat. I often spend half my time deciding what I want if the menu is lengthy!

Enjoy breakfast, lunch and delectable cakes, everything is freshly baked or prepared on the premises.

We enjoyed a slice of sublime rose flavoured marshmallow cheesecake with our coffee. La Vie est Rose Café has a brilliant concept whereby each week a different recipe for cheesecake is baked, so if you are a cheesecake lover like me, this will be the perfect coffee shop to visit.

Every Friday a Harvest Table, buffet style, will be prepared, with two to three choices of salads, meats and starches available, perfect for corporate lunches.

Open Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 16:30 and Saturday 09:00 to 14:00, closed on Sundays.

For more information or to make a booking, phone 011 867 1108.

That’s it for this week. Shop till you drop.
