Left with only a jack

An elderly couple was robbed of all their essential tools used to generate their livelihood.

ALBERTON- At 02:00 on Saturday morning 1 February, a young couple discovered a white Polo Playa standing in front of their neighbors’ open garage in front of Jacwin Court, New Redruth.

Upon confronting the two white men at the vehicle, these men jumped into the Polo and sped away. The young couple from Hydra court then phoned the police and CPF, who promptly responded.

The policeman and the young man from next door waited for two hours to make sure the thieves did not return.

The next morning the residents of Jacwin court discovered that their garages had been broken into and content stolen. The residents from number one Jacwin confirmed that a golf-bag and clubs, a welding plant, gas bottle and their toolbox had been stolen. A motorbike, tools and clothing were stolen from the garage of number 2.

The owner of unit number one said that he has been collecting the tools since he was 17 as he is a motor mechanic by trade. The tools have been his livelihood for many years, many of them being very expensive and specialised equipment for his trade. All that remains is his hydraulic jack.

The young gentleman who reported the crime says that he would definitely be able to identify one of the suspects, which will be very helpful in solving the case.
