How you can save your life during a hijack

Experts say someone is a good driver when he is drunk and survive because of driving on instinct and luck.

FORD and the country’s leading total beverage company, Brandhouse Beverages (Pty) Ltd, are taking on the role to save lives this festive.

These companies are training and teaching motorists easy ways to survive hijacks without “could have been avoided” scratches or traumatising memories.

On Wednesday November 10, at the Jhannesburg Expo Centre, Ford experts demonstrated techniques to better exit a car without upsetting armed hijackers during unwanted hijackings.

The demonstrations were also aimed at addressing those motorists who actually believe they can drive when they are drunk, or they are better drivers when they are drunk.

Scientific tests were performed to prove that motorists are actually better drivers when they are sober than when they are drunk.

Guests and journalists were made to wear eye glasses and suits which simulated the vision and body feel of a drunk person, and then made to drive under different situations to experience the difference.

The results actually shocked a number of those who have driven while they were drunk. It was at that point that they realised that people think they can drive while they are drunk, because they are actually too drunk to see that they are not driving well – hence many people are convinced they can drive and are not realising they are actually driving on instinct and luck.
